TGIF and it snowed!

It is Friday, February 22.  Our crew plowed all roads in the City overnight and sidewalk plows and salt trucks are currently out and have been out since the middle of the night. 

The city wish to advise the public that today's road and sidewalk conditions are slippery due to last night's snow and blowing snow and caution is needed by all who are out and about today. 

If anyone is doing the snow dance could they please stop!

It is Thursday, February 21.  Our crew worked last night to plow all roads in the city and also salt all roads.  Our sidewalk plows have been out also and will be finished of all sidewalks later this morning.  The crew will proceed to salt all sidewalks after plowing is completed.

it is Tuesday February 19th and the sun is shining bright.  Our crew was out last night and plowed all roads within the city and salted all streets.  The crew also plowed sidewalks all night and are nearly done of all sidewalks in the city as of 11 am this morning with work continuing until all sidewalks are complete.  This afternoon the crew will begin using the snowblowers to remove the snow rows from the edge of sidewalks… read more

Water Main Break

There is a water main break on Valley Street, as a result the water is off on Valley Street and Lockwood Drive until repaired.

Last night our crew removed snow from the downtown water street area. 

Today our crew is out widening out streets with our large blower. 

Our other crew is presently out tidying up sidewalks and spreading salt on sidewalks. 

Thank You for your patients as we finish cleaning up the last of this major winter storm!

Today is February 11, 2013 and it is a crisp, cold, sunny day in Summerside.  Crews plowed roads early this morning and salted all streets.  Presently all available men and machines are hard at work opening sidewalks throughout the city.  This effort will continue all day today.  We remind all parents to have a talk with your small children about the importance of staying away from snow plowing equipment.  It can be exciting… read more
 There is still drifting occurring, all streets are open, Plows are making another run to clean up drifting at 9 a.m.  Afternoon will see the start of opening up main street sidewalks with our large blowers and sidewalk plows cleaning behind them.  The salting of the roads will occur as well at this time. Forecast blizzard to continue, Heavy drifting and up to 15 cm more snow this evening and tonight.  Second plow run is completed and resources will be back out for third plow run at 8:00 p.m. followed with the fourth run at 2:00 a.m.  With the continuing drifting and high winds and continuing plow runs throughout theevening and overnight, the sidewalk clearing efforts will not start until tomorrow morning.   The City of Summerside… read more

February 9, 2013 Snow Plowing Update

Plowing will continue as visibility is low but still safe to continue. First plow run has been completed but streets are drifting in with the light snow and will continue to throughout the day and evening.  The second plowing run will begin around 2:00 p.m..  The City is not currently plowing sidewalks until the final plowing run is completed and drifting snow reduces.  The City has already plowed some main roads twice.  One… read more

The City of Summerside has dispatched the snow plowing equipment at 8:00 a.m. this morning and will continue most of the day.  It will take approxiamtely 4.5 hours to complete the City.

Feb 4 Road Maintenance Schedule

In response to today's weather system the City of Summerside will be performing snow and ice control as follows: 1) City snow plows will be dispatched at 3:30 pm this afternoon to clean snow from roads. 2) Sidewalk plows have already completed 1 run through the city and are presently out clearing up drifted or slushy areas. 3) Salt trucks will be dispatched after road plowing proceeds and as weather conditions permit.  4) Tentatively… read more
Granville Street will be closed between Schurman Ave and Rogers Avenue from 8:30 a.m. this morning to fix a water main.  It will be closed until fixed (early this afternoon if everything goes well).  If you have questions please contact Municipal Services at 432-1268. Water Main Repair today on Granville

Municipal Services crews will repair an emergency water main break today.  As a result Granville Street will be closed between Schurman Ave and Rogers Lane beginning between 8am and 8:30 and will remain closed as long as barricades and signs stay in place.  During this time crews may need to shut the water off to houses on Granville Street in this area.  Work is anticipated to be complete later this afternoon.  At this time… read more
