The Human Resources department furnishes support to ensure the City is staffed with the most appropriate number of quality Human Resources. We endeavor to create a working environment that is conducive to reaching and maintaining high levels of productivity and strong employee-employer relations.

Mission Statement

To ensure that the City is staffed with the most appropriate number and quality of human resources, that the working environment is conducive to reaching and maintaining a high level of staff productivity, that policies and programs are implemented which maintain safe, healthy, harmonious, equitable, and just working conditions that employee relations are handled effectively, efficiently, and equitably in a manner consistent with Human Rights and other legislative requirements, City policies, bylaws, and Collective Agreements.

The Department provides legal advice to City Council and the Chief Administrative Officer and coordinates the engagement of all external legal services for the City of Summerside.
